No Shortcuts to Excellence

Writer's picture: Christopher McHaleChristopher McHale

Is difficult to quantify creativity.

Or timeline the creative process.

You can schedule productive routines.

Disciplined work flow is essential to result.

But here’s where it breaks down.

To achieve breakthrough conceptual thinking you have to work until you get there.

Professionalism is knowing you are there, how you got there, and how to duplicate the result. But the design, the prototypes , take the time it takes.

There is no shortcut to excellence.

Give your team the space it needs to build a project worthy of your company.

The job of an executive is to create time and space.

The job of a creative team is to forget all that and follow the process until it’s done.

I'm leaving footprints here, hints, experience and the price paid for it. It's my site, my opinions and I hope you don't necessarily agree with them because then I'll know we lived on the same merry-go-round, reaching for the same damn brass ring, reaching for it, getting it, then dropping it, and getting back on our carousel horse to try again.

I'm a poet, writer, song writer, producer and human.

I believe manners matter, love is all, health is wealth, mistakes define you, and amends make you.
